About Us & Sponsors
Our Cricket Club has been playing in Masham for some 100 years and we form part of Masham Sports Association, a charitable organisation.
We currently participate in the Nidderdale League with two sides, the Wensleydale Evening League, Under 15′s in the Hambleton Junior League, Under 11′s (new for 2012) and in local Cup competitions.
Coaching for Under 12′s is offered on Saturday mornings from 10 am to 12 noon.
Every year Masham CC runs a Six-a-Side Tournament, The Hawkes Cup, which is currently sponsored by The Black Swan at Fearby. Local teams are invited to take part at the beginning of July and it is a fun day for teams and their families. Originally the Hawkes Cup was a trophy presented in the 1930′s by Boosy & Hawkes, brass instrument makers, for a Brass Band Competition which was held at the annual Masham Agricultural Show. With the demise of the show, local cricket clubs began playing for the trophy instead and the Cup has become one of the most coveted prizes and is fiercely fought over!
